I had a nice inside to outside swing. But maybe too inside to outside?
I seemed to be leaving a lot of shots out to the right and thought, “maybe I need to be coming more from the inside so it will turn-over more and draw back.
I was severely wrong and my score was paying for it. So was my wallet.
My swing was so off plane (to the inside) it made me cringe watching the video. The video portrayed a tragic comedy of sorts, where there would be no “Happily Ever After” only a screeching car wreck that people wouldn’t take their eyes off of as they drove by.
Okay, I’m exaggerating.
When I have a problem like this I usually get in touch with my good friend, Nick Faldo who usually know’s how to whip me into shape. When I say, “get in touch”, I mean I peruse his book, SWING FOR LIFE.
And in perusing his book I found a great drill that got me back on track. It put my swing in the proper position going back which helped it stay in the proper position coming down into impact.
After using this drill for about a week, as Lanny Watkins would say- “all cylinders were firing on go!” (whatever the hell that means).
I’d love to know if you’ve used this drill yourself and if it helped in any way.
If you’ve used another great drill to keep you on plane I’d love for you to share it with us in the comments section.
